Ideal Light: Performance Testing
Performance Testing
Body Balance System has completed a multi-site retrospective analysis with 4 non-clinical sites that have used the Ideal Light on a combined 752 subjects. Sites that utilized the Ideal Light system used the combination of 3, 5 or 6 pads on subjects in a time range of 20-30 minutes. Each of the systems provided subjects with exposure to visible Red Light at 635 nm and Near Infrared Light at 880 nm.
The objective of this study was to retrospectively analyze the treatment records at four private practice locations in the United States that utilized the Ideal Light pad system. The goal was to determine the combined circumferential reduction of the hips, thighs, arms, neck, and waist line with a 20 or 30 minute treatment using the Ideal Light pad system.
This retroactive analysis looks at the effectiveness over 10 treatments rather than one single session. Body Balance System was looking to add in additional points of measurement including the neck and arms due to it full body and more versatile, flexible applications.
A self-tensioning tape measure was used for the study.
Back |
Measurement is taken under the bra line for females, and the circumference at level of nipples for males. |
Waist |
2-3 inches above umbilicus |
Mid-Abdomen |
2-3 inches below the umbilicus |
Hips |
Note distance below umbilicus |
Thighs (Right and Left) |
Measurement was taken from the greatest circumference, and the distance was indicated from the top of the kneecap. |
Arms (Right and Left) |
Measurement was taken from the greatest circumference of the bicep |
The results of the retrospective analysis conducted on the Ideal Light and Body Balance Ultimate are summarized in the table below.
Title of Study: |
A Retrospective Analysis on the Effects of Red Light Therapy on Body Contouring using the Ideal Light system. |
Study Objective: |
The objective of the study is to retrospectively review treatment records of four of Body Balance System’s client locations in the United States. The study would determine the combined circumferential reduction of the waist, hips, thighs, arms and neck with a 20-30 minute treatment over 10 sessions. |
Number of Sites: |
4 |
Population Size |
752 |
Population Demographics |
For the study both male and females were used with ages ranging from 20-76. |
Study Design |
The Ideal Light pads were positioned directly on the skin for 20 or 30 minutes. Ideal Light pads were positioned along the length of the spine from the neck to the tail bone; around circumference of the abdominal region; around the circumference of each thigh; and around the circumference of the biceps (standard 6 pad configuration). |
Measurements and Timing |
Measurements were taken prior to the first treatment and after the subjects tenth treatment using a self-tensioning tape measure. All results were recorded on measurement forms, and practitioners used measurement guidance instructions. |
Treatment |
Treatments consisted of 10 treatments provided on 10 separate days over a span of 4 weeks, with exposure of 635 nm Red Light and 880 nm Near Infrared Light for 20-30 minutes each treatment. Ideal Light Pads were positioned along the length of the spine from the neck to the tail bone; around circumference of the abdominal region; around the circumference of each thigh; around the circumference |

The Ideal Light system provides significant circumferential reduction, hence the reduction of subcutaneous fat in a safe and effective manner. This treatment however does not prevent patients from gaining back their fat accumulations due to this natural elimination process
